Tired of having to wait for webpages to load and downloads that seem to take forever? What you need is superfast broadband, 1Gbps broadband to be precise, and the UK is getting it.
Internet Service Provider Hyperoptic are planning to smash the current highest broadband speed offered in the UK of 50Mbps by offering speeds of up to 1Gbps (one gigabyte download per second). Hyperoptic’s 1Gbps broadband service stands at a whopping 140 times the speed of the current UK average.
As with all new technologies, there’s a slight catch. You’ll need to be based in London to have the highest chance of benefitting from this super fast broadband, which Hyperoptic are calling Hyper-sonic.
Large residential and commercial properties in London will be the first to get the 1Gbps broadband service, with a multi-city rollout starting early 2012 across the UK.
Hyperoptic’s fibreoptic network will ensure you’ll get the broadband speed you pay for, rather than losing out on the top speed because of how far you live from the exchange, as with traditional copper-broadband.
The price of the fastest broadband in the country is £50 per month, though if that’s too much to fork out each month you could always opt for Hyperoptic’s 100Mbps and 20Mbps which are £25 and £12.50 per month respectively.
Would you splash the cash to be the proud recipient of the UK’s fastest broadband?
