Apple launched its latest iPhone earlier this week, the iPhone 4S – leaving much head scratching and in some regards a bit of disappointment that it wasn’t a better offering (iPhone 5). But let’s face it, it’s not what we’d really have liked but it is still a pretty nice upgrade that’s sure to please.

UK networks were quick to announce that, yes, they would be bringing the new iPhone 4S to the shelves for their eager customers. And now a number of our mobile carriers of choice have detailed price plans for the gadget’s anticipated public release of October 14th:
Let’s start with Apple itself, which is providing its ‘most amazing iPhone yet’ as a network-free model through the official web store in three versions – 16GB RAM for £499, 32GB RAM for £599 and 64GB RAM for, you guessed it, £699. will be offering its customer a slice of the latest Apple in 16GB form free of charge as part of a £46 per month contract over 2 years. This tariff allows 900 minutes, unlimited texts and 1GB of data per month. Alternatively, there’s the option to pay £99 for a boastful 64GB RAM iPhone 4S this on a £61 per month 2 year contract.

Orange will be offering its customer a slice of the latest Apple in 16GB form free of charge as part of a £46 per month contract over 2 years. This tariff allows 900 minutes, unlimited texts and 1GB of data per month. Alternatively, there’s the option to pay £99 for a boastful 64GB RAM iPhone 4S this on a £61 per month 2 year contract.

Next up is Vodafone which is asking its potential iPhone 4S buyers a commitment of 2 years on £46 per month contract. For this price subscribers will get a generous 1200 minutes call time, unlimited text messaging and 750MB of data. For a short term deal lasting only a year, the iPhone is available for £139 with a £51 per month tariff including all of the above minutes, texts and data. An added reward for early adopters through Vodafone is that the network will refund £59 of all pre-order customers November payments. Sweet deal.

T-Mobile has just got back to us regarding its price plan for the iPhone 4S and offer the following – 16GB of iPhone 4S will be free on a £46 per month contract lasting the usual 24 months, or boost the RAM to 32GB for £61 per month. For the 64GB full-fat version customer will be asked £99 for the mobile and £61 per month on a 2 year contract. All of the T-Mobile fees here include unlimited call time minutes and 500 texts per month.

First to announce its participation in the iPhone 4S UK sales launch was O2. However the network is yet to release any information about its stock or shipping of the new Apple mobile. The same applies for network Three. The Gadget Helpline will update as soon as we receive the information.
