Telly lovin’ Apple fans can now enjoy ITV’s finest programming on-demand and ad-free thanks to the latest update to the ITV Player app for iOS gadgets.
The update brings the routine improvements to the service for both free and paid users and now, for an optional monthly fee of £3.99, ITV viewers with an iPad or iPhone can take up the Premium Upgrade. This will offer all the usual faves such as Corrie and Britain’s Got Talent alongside sporting highlights such as the Tour De France from the full ITV family of channels including ITV1, ITV2, ITV3 and ITV4.
As users of the ITV Player service will know, this top telly is available at any time in any place, provided you have suitable Wi-Fi or 3G/4G access, as well as live broadcasting, and now for a small fee is available without all the commercial content and advertisement pop-ups.
There’s no word on potential quality benefits for subscribers to the paid-for ITV Player Premium Upgrade and no suggestion as yet when an Android version might become available but ITV has made it clear that this is the first step in a ‘transformation plan’ which will continue on multiple platforms.
