Three of the Gadget Helpline’s favourite things are cool apps, cold cider and summer festivals – so the announcement of Kopparberg’s Festival Player app for Facebook comes as music to our ears this sunny afternoon!
The Festival Player is created with Spotify and digital radio provider Last.FM which contribute their combined vast and diverse libraries to the app allowing music fans to browse and bring up countless artists and bands from the lesser-known acts to headliners of some of this year’s top music weekenders including T in the Park, Reading and Leeds.
Specific playlists can be compiled from Spotify and Last.FM’s list of acts only hitting the U.K festivals this year and from these findings users can make up their own line-up or discover ones they really want to see at the live events. There is, of course, a sharing aspect to the app which lets friends get involved and join in the festive feeling through trending and Spotify social features.
As well as the apps fundamentals, competitions will be hosted awarding tickets to top shows and the app is part of a new promotional campaign to promote the Kopparberg beverage. The companies U.K director says “This campaign will help UK festival-goers to plan the bands they want to watch over the Summer, allow them to share their suggestions with friends and to re-live the experience through a Spotify playlist afterwards. We love to see campaigns like this that use our vast catalogue to capture the imagination of music fans.”
Kopparberg squeezes its juicy new software onto Facebook from tomorrow ahead of this year’s promising festival season.
