Following a sneak peak of an unannounced device from HTC known as ‘Proto’ it’s now understood that this secretive smartphone will not actually be joining the One range as the Gadget Helpline and other sources had presumed in our previous postings – but the mobile will in fact join the popular HTC Desire family and will go by the name HTC Desire X.
The release name and a spec list have appeared on Chinese site ePrice and suggest (as expected) that the HTC Desire X will come with Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich running on a 1GHz dual-core processor, 4-inch Super LCD touch display with screen resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. The former Proto will also come packing 768MB of RAM, 4GB of internal memory with expansion available with MicroSD.
Battery life comes at a respectable 1650mAH and the Desire X also boasts a 5-megapixel rear camera with a few of HTC’s own extras – and of course, this one comes bringing the Beats with enhanced audio gear courtesy of the Dr. Dre brand.
Just like the options offered by Samsung on its Galaxy SIII super-smartphone HTC’s middleweight will come in a choice of blue or white casing and will offer 25GB of Dropbox storage to its owners. We’re expecting more from this story to emerge at the IFA in Berlin next month where the big names in the industry will be showing off the latest and greatest smartphone and mobile tech.
