LG’s new flagship Android smartphone has finally been tagged with a UK release date and price by our good friends at Clove Technology.
The LG G2 will be arriving SIM-free in the UK at the end of September, with stock expected to then reach UK networks and other retailers early October. Clove will be stocking the 16GB model in both black and white with a very reasonable price tag of £468.
Compare this to the 16GB version of its main rival the Samsung Galaxy S4 and you’ll see a price difference of £60. When you then consider that the G2 has a much faster processor and a slightly larger display, it seems like even more of a hot deal.
Announced just last week, the LG G2 is the Korean company’s new top of the line Android phone. It features a collection of the latest in mobile tech all bundled into a pretty slim and sleek case. A 5.2-inch Full HD display sits up front, with a 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chip, Adreno 330 graphics and 2GB of RAM providing an impressive amount of power.
The phone runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and will likely get an upgrade to 4.3 later in the year, with a host of apps, themes and widgets on top, courtesy of LG. Dual cameras consist of a 13 megapixel snapper round the back and a sharp 2.1 megapixel sensor up front for video calling and such.
We’re impressed with the G2’s specification sheet which is bursting at the seams and can’t wait to get our hands on one. What are your thoughts on the would-be Galaxy S4 killer?
