LG has sneakily popped a picture online of an incredible-sounding smartphone that they plan to release in the future, and then quickly taken it down.
The LG LU6200 is the phone in question – it doesn’t have a quirky or cool model name just yet, it’s that fresh. Along with the rendered image of the phone that you see above, LG have treated us to some specifications, and they’re pretty darn impressive.
First off, this phone has a 4.5-inch display with a 720p High Definition quality resolution – great for games and watching movies. It also packs a very fast Dual-Core 1.5GHz Scorpion CPU, Adreno 220 GPU for high graphics power and 1GB of RAM.
On the back of the phone is an 8-megapixel camera with LED Flash. From the pictures the back casing looks to be finished in a snazzy pattern too.
The LU6200 also has a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, 4GB of inbuilt storage, a 1830mAh battery, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, DLNA, Wi-Fi Direct and NFC for wireless payment systems. You’ll be able to output your HD video to a HDTV using the USB MHL port, too.
At the moment this phone will only be sold in Korea, as it features LTE (Long Term Evolution) connectivity, which is effectively 4G – something the UK networks can’t support just yet.
Android Gingerbread software powers the phone, with LG’s usual user interface added on top. The phone is around 11mm thick, so it’s not an iPhone 4 or Galaxy S II beater we’re afraid.
Pre-orders are said to begin September 26th in Korea, while many are expecting a 3G version to arrive in the U.S and Europe shortly after. We’ve got our fingers crossed, as we’d love to get the LU6200 behind our cameras to do a Gadget Helpline Video!
