LG Watch Urbane on Sale Globally Via Google Play Store in Coming Weeks

LG is prepping its Watch Urbane ready to hit the market this week. Initially it will be released for sale in the manufacturer’s home country of South Korea followed by wider availability in a number of other global regions through the Google Play store in the coming weeks.

The LG Watch Urbane features full metal case and interchangeable 22mm leather strap making it ultra-stylish with a look comparable to the most premium wristwatches. In other words, it doesn’t look like a chunk of tech is strapped to your wrist and you can enjoy all the sports and lifestyle features in comfort.

The display is a 1.3-inch plastic OLED (or P-OLED) screen which will display apps and features based on Google’s Android Wear OS including, for the first time on any wearable gadget, the WiFi support, battery saving display mode and control by wrist gesture which will be included in an update announced this week.

The Watch Urbane is powered by a 410mAh battery and a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset handles the processing. 512MB of RAM and 4GB internal storage is on offer and the wearable will be available in choice of two classy finishes, Silver or Rose Gold. Dust proofing and water resistance helps keep the device looking and operating in tip top condition. LG is all about style and function with the Urbane.

Coming to South Korea this week the LG Watch Urbane will be available in the UK, USA, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea and Spain shortly afterwards. Exact date of release and prices are yet to be confirmed but are tipped at around £300 – about double the price of the entry level LG G Watch. We’ll update you when we know the facts.
