Phones4U has unveiled its innovative new JUMP scheme which offers long-term contract customers the opportunity to switch up their old mobile for a brand spanking new one every six months, while continuing to enjoy the same fixed amount of call time, text and data allowance per monthly fee.
JUMP stands for Just Upgrade My Phone and Phones4U will offer to upgrade your handset, provided your current model is still in a respectable condition. The UK retailer says in its press statement that customers starting with an existing Samsung Galaxy SII and subscribing to a £35 per month contract with a small addition £2.99 fee to get the JUMP privilege and power-up to a tasty Galaxy Nexus, with latest Android OS upgrade Ice Cream Sandwich. Another example trades the HTC Sensation to a Beats laden special edition Sensation XL with some sweet audio augmentations. Apple iPhone users, usually forced to wait out their 24 months as new improved wares are snapped up by their pals, can now get that iPhone 4S they’ve been eagerly counting down their contracts for. JUMP offers the flexibility to try a new phone in a quarter of that usual wait time.
A minor complication does crop up, however, but doesn’t entirely damage the scheme. As soon as you agree to leap onboard the JUMP scheme your contract is automatically restarted, meaning you will have to wait the full six months before you upgrade despite the time remaining on your existing contract.
