Our first assumption lands on the recently leaked Motorola Moto E mid-ranged smartphone that surfaced last week in a Portuguese leak, but Motorola could have another smartphone up its sleeve.
The Motorola event will take place on 13 May in London, and the invitations read:.
“Connect more people to the world’s information and each other, and they can do great things. Introducing the next smartphone from Motorola to make these connections happen. Made to last. Priced for all.”
The Moto G is currently doing pretty well for Motorola, but the rumoured specs for the Moto E are a slightly more mid-ranged friendly handset that its G cousin. The Moto E is rumoured to come with a 4.3-inch screen and a 5-megapixel rear camera, powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory. It will also have a 1900mAh battery and come running Android 4.4 KitKat
However, some less than standard features have also been suggested, with reports claiming that the Moto E will sport dual SIM capabilities and a digital TV tuner.
Motorola were recently bought from Google by Lenovo, and since then the Brand has been focused on affordable mobiles for the mid-ranged market. This seems to be working for the company as thanks to the Moto G, Motorola’s market share in the UK has surged to 6% from almost nothing in the six months after its release.
