Motorola Xoom and Atrix 4G both selling poorly in the US, claims analyst

You never know how the public are going to react to a new piece of kit, but when you’re bringing a couple of the most advanced pieces of consumer tech ever to market, you’d expect that they hold their own. This doesn’t seem to be the case for Motorola, though, who’s Xoom tablet and Atrix 4G smartphone’s US sales have both been described as “dissapointing.”

Pacific Crest analyst James Faucette claims that sales of both devices in the States have been poor, citing that slightly older, similar tech such as the iPhone 3GS and is available much cheaper – luring customers away.

Faucette’s claims that sales of both are “well below forecast” doesn’t bode well for either device’s trip across the Atlantic; the Xoom is set to go on sale in the UK this week and the Atrix not long after.
