So, we were hoping to give a sterling report of the new Android to iOS migration tool which was launched by Apple at its recent ‘Special Event’ introducing iOS 9 – However, after checking the reviews from users on the App Store we’re now more inclined to focus this article on the abundance of hilarious criticisms we found there.
“Everything about iOS is designed to be easy. That includes switching to it” boasts the description for the Move to iOS app – and on paper it all does sound fairly straight forward: Install the app on both the Android and iOS device, get activation code, enter activation code, click to move data, select data, wait for data to be transferred via Wi-Fi.

Despite Apple’s good intentions to gentle usher new sheep to its flock many enraged iTunes patrons, notably Android loyalists, have taken over the app page to tear the Move to iOS software to pieces.
Some of the most entertaining rants from the 27,000+ one star reviews include:
“Do not install! Unless you want a lobotomy. Seriously? You think people want to move to a restricted ecosystem that won’t even allow you to try apps before you buy?? Google why did you allow them to put this app here? Oh that’s right you promote innovation and don’t charge for it or place restrictions on it..actually – I am surprised Apple isn’t charging $20 for the app.” – Ben Bartlett.
“Stay away from my life. So Apple trying to be in everyone else’s life. You already have a platform….you don’t need Google too. Don’t want you restricting what we can and can’t do.” – Ephrim Steinbeigle.
“By choosing to go to iOS, is like choosing to just go to jail. To be locked in and controlled and ordered around, oh hey, isn’t that why the iOS community tries to set it’s free by using JAILBREAK? – ANDROID-4-LIFE!” – Yuri Aksen.
“Apple is for noobs. Peasants use apple products. Android master race. Android is for power users who want more out of their phone not just a screen full of applications.” – Jashan Jeet Singh.
“This app supports Donald Trump! This app donates all of its profis to his campaign! Trump never did anything people think!?!?!” – Anders Fahlgren
Of course, these reviews are a touch on the biased side and we’d take them with a generous pinch of salt. Regardless of personal OS preferences it’s neat to finally have a reasonably simplified method of migrating contacts, messaging history and valuable data such as videos and photos from Android to iOS – and at least 5,680 people think it’s pretty handy!
