Multiplayer Splitscreen Minecraft Coming to Xbox LIVE This Spring

Multiplayer Minecraft mayhem is on its way creating a new twist on the popular construction game which will be arriving on Xbox LIVE in Spring 2012.

Recently hooking up with LEGO for a range of toys and games and spawning onto mobile gadgets via the iOS and Android platforms, the appeal of the Minecraft has never been stronger – so what better time to introduce a four-person split-screen mode of play which will allow gamers to challenge pals to build and develop exciting worlds, limited only by the imagination? The way this will work will be akin to the now old hat internet chat rooms – someone will set up a map, and others can join by invitation to take part, build and interact socially.

The multi-player format developed for the Xbox 360 online service by 4J Studios will introduce a new interface for inventory and redesigned for better natural use of the consoles controller, since Minecraft was traditional established as a desktop game for PC users – as we know it’s since outgrown that environment!
