Sony’s Spanish PlayStation website has released a cryptic trailer for something called EMAGON which will somehow relate to the upcoming 20th anniversary of the PlayStation brand.
The video shows what appears to be a game with lavish fantasy landscapes with trees and deserts explored in first person perspective while a voiceover speaks in Spanish. The clip ends with a vine growing out of barren earth and the word EMAGON followed by the date December 5th.
According to those who have translated it the dialogue says:
“20 years. It’s a lot of time. Look around you and see everything you have achieved. You have reigned on infinite places. You have conquered and freed. You have built and destroyed. You have been the light before the darkness. However, this time is different. This time, it is real. For the first time your actions have real consequences. They need your help. The power to change things is in your hands.“
Elsewhere on the PlayStation blog post it translates that the 20th anniversary of the beloved PSOne launch in 1994 is a ‘very special day’ and that Sony wants to offer something to ‘rise to the occasion’. The post goes on to say that if we want to know what EMAGON is all about we have to wait until Friday to find out PlayStation’s ‘best kept secret’.
Despite looking like a new game, some have already observed that EMAGON backwards reads NO GAME.
