High end British audio equipment manufacturer Naim Audio is causing shock waves in the industry with its first wireless music system called mu-so.
Naim is well known for producing some of the finest audio equipment available, which has seen the company work with Bentley Motors to deliver a world class in-car audio system. Naim Audio have specialised in providing high end audio systems and until recently has not ventured in to the mass market of wireless music systems, which is currently lead by brands like Sonos and Bowers and Wilkins.
However, that has now changed as Naim have launched its first ever Wireless speaker in the form of the Naim mu-so wireless speaker. The mu-so is an all in one Wireless music system which delivers 450 watts of power through 6 speakers, all of which is contained in a beautifully designed and produced aluminium covered cabinet.
It offers connectivity for Apple’s AirPlay streaming, Bluetooth (aptX), iRadio, UPnP streaming and Spotify Connect.
We have been lucky enough to hear mu-so in action and for its size and price point (£895) it is stunning. With multiroom capability and control via iOS and Android Apps it contains all the elements to become the new benchmark for wireless music systems.
Setting up mu-so is quick and easy with iOS key sharing built in to allow for effortless set up on your Wi-Fi network. Naim have also broken new ground with an interactive digital product guide and setup video to help users maximise their enjoyment of mu-so by getting them set-up with minimal fuss.
Mu-so has just won the What Hi-Fi’s Best Wireless Speaker Product of the Year Award and has got numerous 5 star reviews that will have the established players in market twitching in their listening chairs. Naim, who have built their reputation on high end niche Separates systems are looking to silence their pre-launch critics who were saying that they were moving in the wrong direction in a crowded market place.
