Nexus 10 Book Cover: First official accessory launched by Google

Since launching in November of last year, Google’s Nexus 10 tablet hasn’t been complimented with a single official accessory. That is until now, as Google has just revealed the Book Cover for the 10-inch Jelly Bean tablet.

The Nexus 10 Book Case is now available from the Play Store in two colours – Dark Grey and Scarlet, which looks kind of Orange to us – priced at £24.99 each.

The design makes use of the removable panel that surrounds the camera on the back of the device, with a protective flip cover attaching to the tablet by replacing this panel. The part that covers the screen is similar to the Magic Cover for the iPad, although without the folds that create a stand.

It’s a simple design that looks pretty neat, although protection will only stretch to the screen itself and not the back of the device, so don’t go dropping it!

Google’s Nexus 10 is a flagship tablet manufactured by Google, running the very latest version of Android which is Jelly Bean 4.2. The star attraction is the super-sharp 10-inch display, which matches the iPad’s Retina Display with a 2560 x 1600 resolution, which of course you’re going to want to protect.

The pricing seems reasonable, especially when compared to Apple’s Smart Covers, so if you’ve picked up a Nexus 10 then the Book Cover looks to be a stylish addition!
