No doubt you’ll be aware of the fact that Samsung were due to announce the new Google Nexus Prime today, however, the company along with Google decided to postpone the event where we would’ve of expected to see the new Android powered smartphone running the latest version of the OS (Ice Cream Sandwich).

It emerged in the last day or two that Samsung and Google decided to postpone the event out of respect to Steve Jobs who passed away on the 5th of October. Although both Apple and Samsung are continually fighting each other in the courts over patents, it was a thoughtful gesture on Samsung’s part to temporarily postpone the event.

Although now, news is starting to filter through that Samsung have a new date in mind for when they will show off the latest Nexus handset along with the new features of the Ice Cream Sandwich update; that date is expected to be the 3rd November. The reports come from the guys over at Phandroid who have it from a reliable source with US network Verizon that the above date is indeed accurate.

Just to re-cap on the rumoured specs of the Nexus Prime; As well as being the first smartphone to feature the Android Ice Cream Sandwich update, the phone will also feature a curved 4.65-inch Super AMOLED display, will be powered by a dual-core 1.2Ghz processor, have a 5MP camera and 1GB of RAM.

Hopefully we wont have to wait long before we can get some official confirmation of Samsung.
