Nintendo may have today unveiled the European release date for its forthcoming Nintendo 3D Video service for the 3DS handheld gaming console.
The company delivered some news that the 3DS video download service will go live for Europeans on July 13th, but then mysteriously pulled the news from the website where it was initially published.
Gaming website Kotaku released the information direct from the Nintendo site but soon good old Ninty pulled the info which stated that we in the UK and Europe will be getting the Video service first – as soon as tomorrow.
The information is still linked to headlines in the Nintendo RSS feed and some have been stuck in the official site’s news headline ticker, but a quick click on the link gives you to an error 404 page where the information has been removed.
It’s a bit odd that Nintendo would run the information then remove it, but if the date is correct then we can expect to see the Video Service as soon as tomorrow (Wednesday the 13th of July) for all of us in the UK.
Nintendo Video will offer 3D video content available to download on the handheld 3DS console and will be specific to your region. 3D shorts, Sky and Eurosport broadcasts in 3D are all expected upon the release in the UK.
The Japanese already have Nintendo Video and it has been on the backburner with Nintendo for some time but the Jap service is updated daily and offers a shows including one about a girl group facing various challenges and a how-to magic trick show.
No news as of yet on a US release or if the leak is official, but we’ll keep you posted on this one.
