NOOK eReader prices slashed in the UK – Simple Touch now just £29

As part of the ‘Get Reading’ campaign, US bookstore giant Barnes and Noble has started something of a fire sale on its eReaders here in the UK, slashing prices to as low as £29.

The company’s Nook Simple Touch reader has been reduced from £79 to £29 for a limited time only, which is both an incredible saving and a crazy-low price for a touchscreen e-ink eReader.

Similarly, the more recent Simple Touch GlowLight has been reduced from £109 to £69. This model offers a brighter display and thanks to a backlight you’re able to read in the dark without straining your eyes.

Most surprising is the reduction in price of B&N’s two new Android-based tablets, the Nook HD and Nook HD+. These are now priced at £129 and £179 respectively, offering access to apps, movies and most importantly, books, on a budget.

The discounts will be found through the Nook website, as well as with major retailers including Argos, Asda, John Lewis, Currys, PC World and Sainsburys. It’s all very much a ‘limited time only’ thing though, so be quick!
