Nyko Zoom for Kinect makes it easy to play in smaller rooms

If, like me, you bought Microsoft’s Kinect for Xbox 360 accessory only to discover that your room simply isn’t big enough, then you might just want to check out this interesting gadget.

The Zoom by Nyko is a neat little device which clips over the front of the cameras on your Kinect accessory and moves with it. You needn’t worry that your bedroom or living room is too small to play Kinect properly if you have this accessory, as it reduces the required play space by up to 40%.

It’s perfect for me as my living room is just too small to get any real fun out of Kinect. To get myself in the optimum area for Kinect to recognise my flailing limbs I have to re-arrange the furniture and stand as close to the back wall as possible. Know the feeling? I’m sure there are a lot of you out there!

The lens on the Zoom tricks the Kinect’s cameras into thinking your room is bigger than it really is, meaning you won’t repeatedly told to step back or get a bigger house by your Xbox. The best part? It only costs $29.99!

It still works with two players and you don’t have to install any software or make any configuration at all, simply clip it onto the Kinect accessory and away you go!

We’re awaiting confirmation on a UK release and price for this item, but I for one will be ordering myself one as soon as possible!
