With Christmas Day in just under a week 2012 is really drawing to a close, and when the clock finally ticks down on this year and we start a new one, the technology world doesn’t take long to start its new year off with a bang. 2013’s first big release is coming courtesy of RIM and its forthcoming BlackBerry 10 launch.
This week press invites were sent out for the big launch on January 30th and since then an increasing number of suppliers and networks have expressed that they are getting on board with RIM’s last ditch attempt to try and revitalise the BlackBerry OS.
So far Three, O2 and Vodafone have all released statements that show their intent to range the new BlackBerry 10 handsets once they have launched.
O2 confirmed that they will be selling the BB10 handsets via their Twitter account, stating:
“Really happy to say we’ll be selling BlackBerry 10 in early 2013:http://o2lin.kr/SNTiwF . Watch out for more info soon.”
Three also confirmed its BB10 intentions by stating:
“Three can confirm it intends to range BlackBerry 10 in the UK. Additional information is available at www.blackberry.com/BlackBerry10”
And finally, BlackBerry’s biggest UK network supporter Vodafone has made a statement saying:
“Just a quick note to let you know that we’re planning to offer the new BlackBerry 10 when it launches on 30th Jan 2013. We’ll release more details on pricing and availability after launch.”
Additionally, TechRadar has been in contact with an EE spokesperson who has also confirmed T-Mobile, Orange and EE’s involvement in the BB10 launch, with the latter set to offer the new OS on its superfast 4GEE service.
We are expecting the launch of the handsets to happen soon after the January 30th event in New York City.
