LG are looking to take on HTC’s EVO 3D with their own 3D handset, the Optimus 3D. LG have managed to secure a UK release for their device before HTC have even announced a release for the EVO 3D in the UK.
Clove expect to receive the first batch of stock for the Optimus 3D on June 6th, so we would expect customers to receive the device around the 8th.
The Optimus 3D will be the first 3D mobile phone in the UK when it is released, offering 3D video capture using the dual cameras on the back, and glasses-free 3D playback on the 4.3-inch multitouch display. 2D video can also be captured in up to 720p HD quality using one of the rear cameras, as well as 5MP still shots.
Android 2.2 (FroYo) powers the device, there’s 8GB onboard storage, Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth and a HDMI port for playing back your videos on a connected HDTV.
Clove will be retailing the Optimus 3D in Black for £454.80 SIM Free, and you can pre-order yours now. If you’re a white phone fanatic, check out our article on the exclusive white variant of the Optimus 3D here.
