At long last, Samsung has revealed the date that all tech fans will want to put in their calendars. The Galaxy S4 will be officially unveiled in New York City on March 14th.
Samsung may not be taking the new phone to Mobile World Congress in Barcelona but that hasn’t stopped it stealing the show. Invites to one of Samsung’s traditional Mobile Unpacked events went out to press this morning, inviting us to ‘come and meet the next Galaxy’.
If anyone was in any doubt as to exactly what the next Galaxy would be, the slogan ‘READY 4 THE SHOW’ should be enough to quell any doubt. The only smartphone in Samsung’s range to be imminently entering its fourth generation is the flagship Galaxy S, and we’re under a month away from meeting it.
As to what the phone entails, that’s still a mystery. The Korean tech giant has done an even better job at keeping the phone shrouded in secrecy than last year, with many believing that the company moves prototypes and demo models of the S4 around in secure boxes with a stringent security protocol followed.
The rumour mill will never stop, and we’ve heard plenty of expected features and specifications to keep our brains ticking over. With HTC and Sony, amongst others, launching new phones with Full HD screens, we firmly believe this to be one feature that we can count on. A new and more powerful rear camera is also expected, with a 13 megapixel sensor the most rumoured spec.
