UK mobile network Orange has announced a partnership with the French music streaming service Deezer.
The partnership will result in the launch of Deezer Mobile, a music streaming service exclusively available to Orange Pay Monthly customers as a part of their monthly tariff. Customers on the Panther tariff will gain unlimited access to Deezer’s music catalogue, with no adverts and enhanced sound quality.
Over 13 million songs are available to listen to on your smartphone with the Deezer Mobile service, as well as customisable radio stations and discographies.
Deezer is a French company who aim to rival Spotify in the music streaming market. They currently have over 20 million users and hope to expand their user base into the UK with the new partnership with Orange.
They will also be offering a standalone service called Deezer Premium +, which contains more features at a price of £9.99 per month, the same as Spotify Ultimate. The premium service lets you stream music on both your mobile phone and on your PC using free software, with access to 13 million songs, 30 radio channels, 30,000 artist-based radio stations, discographies, artist biographies and reviews.
“Deezer has always aimed to put fans in control of their own music – whether at a desk or on the move,” said Mark Foster, MD Deezer UK. “We’re delighted to be partnering with Orange to offer a truly flexible mobile music experience, and look forward to seeing all the tapping feet on the tube.”
The service is now live and available for Orange Pay Monthly customers, who can head to m.deezer.com to start using the service.
