UK Network Orange has launched a new freebie initiative for its customers, this time offering free iTunes movie downloads on a weekly basis.
Orange Film To Go will offer customers of the network a new, free download of a selected film every Thursday. As with the ever-popular Orange Wednesdays 2-4-1 cinema deal, you can simply text ‘FILMTOGO’ from your mobile to 85060 in order to get your free iTunes movie download.
Orange has also developed a dedicated app for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, so if you’re too high tech to text then you can get your free rental and download it directly on your Apple device. If you choose to text, you’ll be able to redeem the code for your movie download on iTunes on a PC, Mac, Laptop or Apple mobile device.
As with Orange Wednesdays, Film To Go is a promotion available to contract and pay as you go mobile customers, as well as mobile broadband, business and Orange Broadband customers. Texts will cost 35p outside of your regular text bundle for monthly users, and 35p will come out of your topped-up credit for pay as you go customers.
The service goes live this week and the first rental is ‘My Blueberry Nights’ and next week’s title is ‘The Wrestler’. As with all iTunes downloads, you have 30 days in which to watch your rental from the day you text Orange, and 48 hours in which to watch it once you’ve started playing.
Film To Go will be perfect for those who spent a little too much on popcorn and drinks at the cinema the night before with Orange Wednesdays, and just fancy a free night in with a film!
