Fully downloadable, installable, digital games for PlayStation 4 will arrive sooner than originally expected according to a blog announcement from Sony about its Digital Pre-load service.
Thought to be coming later in the year, towards Autumn/Winter, Sony’s new scheme will make many games available through pre-order on the PS Store which will then automatically install onto the PS4 console before they are released in stores. Sony understands that games take a while to install so are making digital editions early so they can be ready to play on time with everybody else.
Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark, released next week on the 24th of June, will be the first digital title for the PS4 this service will be available for and the game will load itself up ready to play on the day. Most importantly this means no more queuing in store for late night releases for digital downloaders!
Many games and DLC packs will be included in this new scheme such as the upcoming update for Infamous: Second Son called First Light and future full release Little Big Planet 3 can be ordered in advance and should be loaded by the time it hits the shelves in physical copy. And don’t worry if you’re still running a previous gen PS3, the scheme carries over for you guys and girls too!
The list revealed by Sony includes the following titles and DLCs:
Battlefield Hardline
Battlefield Hardline Deluxe Edition
Bloodborne
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
