PlayStation VR Unofficially Priced On Swiss Websites

Sony’s virtual reality kit, formerly Project Morpheus – now PlayStation VR, finally has a price (sort of) thanks to a couple Swiss retail websites which are already listing the product ahead of its launch at some point in the first half of 2016.

Page markers have popped up on www.internet.ch and http://www.brack.ch showing manufacturer part no. PLAYSTATIONVR in picture render form and the prices 541.20 and 499.00 Euros respectively, but with zero stock and no confirmed arrival date mentioned on either website.

It seems the Swiss are grabbing bits of info from the rumour mill in order to beat the hype and when we translated the website, thanks to Google Translate, the description on one site reads:

The current price is based solely on pre-announcements, which, for example, were mentioned in the media, these are subject to change until the final release of the product!

Despite the vagueness of the details contained within these sources it at least gives us a clear indication that the PlayStation VR will be somewhat less costly than the Facebook-owned Oculus Rift which is set to lead the VR revival and have an asking price of around £410 when released in the earlier part of this year.

The PlayStation VR has no fixed release date but is believed to be getting an official launch and an actual price at this year’s E3 expo in June. The virtual reality headset will be used with PlayStation 4 and features OLED display technology with 1920 x 1080p resolution (that’s 960 x 1080 per eye) and a refresh rate of 120Hz.
