Games developer Firemint has released an update to Real Racing 2 HD for iPad, enabling iPad 2 users to output the game in Full HD (1080p) to a HDTV.
When the iPad 2 was released, Apple unveiled a new dock connector which enabled both USB charging and HDMI out. Dubbed as the Apple Digital AV Adapter, it mirrors the screen of your iPad 2 in the native 1920×1080 resolution onto your HDTV.
When mirrored to a HDTV, there are no black borders and the game plays at a steady 30 frames per second. Everything looks very impressive, and we’re sure lots of developers will follow in Firemint’s footsteps and create games that will mirror in Full HD to a connected TV.
Real Racing 2 HD will set you back £5.99 (or $9.99) stateside, and is the first iPad game to offer Full HD support for output to TV. Check out a demo of the game in action on a big screen HDTV below, and let us know your thoughts!
