A talented artist and connoisseur of classic consoles has revealed his latest piece and combining two of Nintendo’s most beloved platforms has used the control pad of the 1996 Nintendo64 as a canvas and repainted it with a design inspired by the original home console, the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES).
Zoki64 is a web-based artist and has previously reimagined popular and retro Nintendo hardware including controllers, consoles and handhelds showcasing them on the website DeviantArt. The N64 controller is the newest and most impressive in a line-up which has included fantastic paint jobs inspired by favourites such as Super Mario Bros. and Super Metroid.
The artist has also worked his magic on a stunning golden N64 console which features a theme based on The Legend of Zelda with intricate Hyrulian inspired detailing. But it’s the 64-bit system controller that’s currently catching the attention of Nintendo nostalgics and gaming fans in general via the web.
It features authentic detailing of the classic NES controller from the mid-80s including grey and black colour scheme with cherry red ‘A’ and ‘B’ buttons and Nintendo symbol impressed at the top. The trigger button which was an additional feature on the N64 pad has also been given a matching make-over and the whole thing just looks great with its glossy finish.
