Some more pictures of RIM’s supposed future BlackBerry London smartphone have appeared online well ahead of the device’s and the BB10 OS’ expected announcement date, which is set for January 2013.
The BB London is reported to be the first BlackBerry 10 OS sporting device, with the operating system being RIM’s last ditch attempt to make BlackBerry and the company successful (or more importantly profitable).
There are a host of pictures that have been leaked online by BlackBerry centric website CrackBerry.com, which show the handset running the BB10 software in comparison to a BlackBerry Bold 9700, which shows the new candybar form factor for the phone.
The BlackBerry L-Series, or London as its to be known, is expected to be unveiled in January with RIM’s official BB10 announcement and it is expected to be one of two new BB10 sporting handsets released with the second being a classic QWERTY keyboard smartphone with a smaller touchscreen.
Rumoured specs say that the London will come with a 4.2-inch (1280 x 768) display and the handset will run off a dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM plus 16GB of onboard storage, a microSD card slot and an 8-megapixel camera.
By looking at the leaked images you can see that the handset looks every similar to the new Sony range of XPERIA Android smartphones such as the Xperia S and T (Bond phone) with its squared black design and simple styling.
RIM has announced that it will be officially unveiling the new BB10 OS and smartphones on January 30th to the world, so lets all hope it’s as good as they are promising.
