Rockstar reveals Collector’s Edition and Special Edition packages for GTA V

  • by

Asides from release day, the day Grand Theft Auto fans have been waiting for has finally arrived. Rockstar has revealed the GTA V Collector’s Edition and Special Edition pre-order bundles and they’re awesome!

If you’re not interested in special packages then there’s a little bonus in store for anyone who pre-orders the regular game – the Atomic Blimp. A blimp! The amount of fun you can have in a blimp is immeasurable, we tell you. Rockstar tells us that the blimp sits above Los Santos, advertising the city’s finest tyre company, but you’ll be able to pilot the beast if you pre-order. Excellent.

The Special Edition bundle gets you a steelbook game case with exclusive double-sided artwork and a 21.5” x 26.75” blueprint map of the city of Los Santos and the surrounding Blaine County. The rest of the bonus bits are in the game;

  • Special Ability Boost

Michael, Franklin and Trevor each have a unique special ability. With this boost, the special ability bar will generate 25% faster.

  • Stunt Plane Trials

Single player Stunt Plane Trials let you take on additional aerial challenges spread throughout Los Santos and Blaine County.

  • Bonus Outfits, Tattoos and More

Michael, Franklin and Trevor get bonus outfits in their wardrobes, character specific tattoos at tattoo parlors, and special deals from shopkeepers across Los Santos and Blaine County.

  • Additional Weapons

When visiting Ammunation stores in single player, merchants will have special weapons in their inventory available for free: the Pistol .50, Bullpup Shotgun and melee Hammer.

If you’re a hardcore fan then the Collector’s Edition scores you a bunch of physical swag, including a New Era baseball cap with ‘LOS SANTOS’ across the front in Compton-style script, a wallet-type security deposit bag inspired by the game, a GTA logo key, custom characters for the online part of the game and a garage stocked with 1930’s hotrod car and a CarbonRS sports bike. Online you’ll also get access to the Khamelion electric sports car.

All of these goodies come in a premium box which looks very smart indeed. The Special Edition set is priced at $79.99 whilst the Collector’s Edition is priced at $149.99. UK prices should be revealed later today.

UPDATE: GAME has the Special Edition up for pre-order at £64.99, ShopTo has the Collector’s Edition priced at £119.86!
