Finnish mobile games company Rovio has today launched Rovio Accounts – an online service which will allow players of Angry Birds and more (in the future) to back up their progress and continue gameplay on their other connected devices.
Starting initially with the original Angry Birds which has amassed millions of downloads across multiple platforms since taking flight in 2009, and The Croods this Rovio Account service will soon expand to include scores and progress on other Rovio titles included Angry Birds Star Wars and Bad Piggies.
The months of preparation ahead of taking the account system public has allowed Rovio to not only address a long standing issue where gamers would have to restart the Angry Birds game on every device they owned but will also provide us with the chance to cross the platforms – so a game saved on account with an Android gadget could be resumed on an Apple iPad and iPhone with the same account details.
For all the info on setting up a Rovio Account you can read the details in full on the official Rovio Blog.
