Samsung seems keen to milk the success of its Galaxy range of smartphones. Not only has the company recently added a barrage of new ‘Galaxy’ budget phones and its upcoming tablets to the line, but it also looks set to unleash this: the Galaxy S Plus – also known as the i9001.
The S Plus has been leaked by an official Samsung blog in Russia, with a SIM-free price over there of about £500. The handset sports a sizable 4.0-inch AMOLED display, and boasts both Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and Sammie’s own TouchWiz 4.0 user interface inside.
The i9001 is set to be powered by a nippy 1.4-GHz processor. There’s no word yet on whether this phone will me winging its way to the UK but, given the huge success of Samsung’s other Galaxy phones in this market, we’d be surprised if it didn’t.
Is this phone one to look out for, or will it be eclipsed by the Galaxy S II? Let us know on the Gadget Helpline Twitter feed.
