The Samsung Galaxy S III has leaked yet again, although this time it stars in a fairly lengthy and good quality hands-on video along with accompanying photos.
Who was lucky enough to spend some time with the unreleased Samsung superphone? None other than the Vietnamese gadget website Tinhte.vn. For those who aren’t familiar with the website, it’s one of the biggest gadget sites in the world with around 30 million hits per month, and has a good track record of scoring gadgets before they’re released, previously showing off the iPhone 4 and iPad 3 ahead of their respective launch dates.
In the video we see the phone front to back along with a demonstration of the software, a look at the specifications and a comparison with the Galaxy Nexus. All we can say is that this looks as close to the real deal as we’re going to see before the May 3rd announcement.
So what does Tinhte say the Galaxy S3 features? We’re told it has a Quad-Core processor clocked at 1.4GHz, the latest Android 4.0 operating system and a stunning 4.6-inch screen with a high resolution of 1184 x 720 and a pixel density of 320dpi. The screen is a tiny bit smaller than the Galaxy Nexus although the pixel density just beats it.
The camera is said to be 8-megapixel with an LED flash, which contrasts with the recent reports of a 12-megapixel snapper. It’ll take pictures at a resolution of 3264 x 2448, and although it’s not confirmed in the video, you can almost guarantee that this phone will shoot Full HD 1080p video. Inside there is to be 16GB of storage space along with a microSD card slot and a big 2050 mAh battery. Connectivity options are plentiful, with Wi-Fi, GPS, DLNA, NFC and Bluetooth all present and correct.
As for the design, we’re not going to know what the phone looks like officially until May 3rd when Samsung reveals all. Tinhte reports that although the innards of the phone they got hold of are final, the casing and design is not. Samsung has cleverly used dummy cases for the Galaxy S III test units, of which one has landed at Tinhte. The final design will be revealed in just 13 days, and we could see the ceramic case that has been heavily rumoured. We’re excited to find out, are you?
