With just a few weeks until we can get to grips with the latest and greatest Samsung smartphone – the Galaxy S4 which arrives on April 26th, rumour is already swinging towards the possibility of a smaller, slightly spec’d down variant known as the Galaxy S4 Mini. Following a few recently leaked snaps of the diminutive device we have an idea of what it might look like, and now we might even have a rough idea of when we’ll officially get to see it.
News from a number of sources suggests that the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini will be announced at a non-too-specific point this month for a sales push in June/July. The S4 Mini will be a slimmed down and scaled down counterpart to big bro which begins shipping within the next few weeks.
The Samsung S4 Mini’s launch is believed to feature a variety of incrementally differing models including LTE version, Dual-SIM and a HSPA+ variant for the Chinese market, however there will be common spec across the range. Those rumoured features include a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display, 1.6GHz dual-core CPU with most Android version 4.2 Jelly Bean complimented by Samsung’s own TouchWiz user interface.
The Gadget Helpline will be following all updates on both versions of the Samsung Galaxy S4 – both full-sized and Mini – up to and beyond release day.
