Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini and Galaxy Young 2 Heading to UK in August

UK release dates for the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini and Galaxy Young 2 have now been officially acknowledged and both Android mobile handsets are ready to go on sale in the coming month.

First up on August the 7th will be the Galaxy S5 Mini which as you may have guessed is a streamlined sibling to the regular sized Samsung flagship smartphone. The handset is confirmed for release through Samsung retail outlets and the Carphone Warehouse and boasts Android 4.4.2 KitKat as OS of choice, complimented by Samsung’s own UI TouchWiz all displayed on a scaled down 4.5-inch display and running on 1.4GHz quadcore processor.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini will also come with a respectable 1.5GB RAM with 16GB internal memory and expansion up to 64GB is possible thanks to Micro SD port. For shooting snapshots the handset features an 8-megapixels main camera at the rear and 2.1-megapixels up front camera for the all-important selfies which can be shared over the smartphone’s WiFi, Bluetooth or 4G data speed. And just like big bro, the S5 Mini comes with fingerprint scanner which can be used for a number of unique purposes.

Following up from this model, the Samsung Galaxy Young 2 will arrive later in the month of August and offers a nice little handset for the less-demanding smartphone user, or those approaching Android devices for the first time. The Young 2 packs much into its pocket-sized frame and features 3.5-inch display with 480p resolution. A 1GHz CPU offers a fair processing pace for a phone of its intentions, just as the 512MB of RAM and 4GB of storage is ample enough to suit the phone’s cut back capabilities.

Pricing and availability info is yet to become common knowledge so we will update when more news is released.
