Confirmation comes from Samsung today that the incredibly popular record-selling Galaxy S3 smartphone will be arriving in the United Kingdom in a full-fat 64GB version.
The nine-million early buyers of the iPhone bothering quad-core super-phone from Korea manufacturer Samsung are currently restricted to either 16GB or 32GB of added storage via MicroSD. However it had been rumoured that the heavy-weight 64 gigger being enjoyed by overseas owners in the States might be making its way over here.
Fellow tech site T3 got the scoop direct from the mobile maker which is quoted as saying “The 64GB model of the GALAXY S III will be available during the second half of this year. The market availability and timing may vary and will be determined at the time.”
Whether or not the revised model will benefit with arriving post-Android 4.1 Jelly Bean launch is not revealed but considering the original Galaxy S3 came with most recent edition Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich straight out of the box we’d hope this might be the case.
Spec should remain the same, with the Samsung flagship sizing up with a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display, 1.4GHz quad-core CPU with 1GB of RAM and 8-megapixel camera. And of course that extra bit of storage space – now supporting up to 64GB.
