Samsung Galaxy SIII: Service Manual “Leaked” – Reveals Dodgy Design & Suspect Spec of Android ICS Smartphone

[tab name=’News’]

Samsung Galaxy SIII “Leak of the Day” time once again. This one originates from SamMobile.com and suggests to us a page from the much-hyped Android smartphone’s service manual has escaped ahead of the May 3rd London launch. But we’re not entirely sold.

A basic design outline reveals a gadget which seems to combine elements of previous images of the Samsung Galaxy SIII which have surfaced in recent months, fake or otherwise. The shape and thickness does follow suit with previous Galaxy models, which the sleek and slender frame of the Galaxy Nexus. The image however contradicts reports of no physical buttons on the bottom of the hardware. Instead the new Android Ice Cream Sandwich update will feature virtual on-screen buttons.

Moving onto the spec, several of the details here don’t quite measure up – quite literally. The screen size of the SGSIII is generally believed to be 4.7” but is stated here as a fraction larger at 4.8”. Also, the processing power is exaggerated. As we now know the beastly quad-core CPU running the Samsung Galaxy SIII will be a 1.4GHz Exynos 4 Quad and not 1.5GHz as shown in this supposed service manual.

We were excited to discover this report, but on closer inspection we’ll be taking this one no further and will wait till a week Thursday to hear the truth behind the next Galaxy when it’s announced. A nice try though, and something a little different from the leaked “snapshots” and Photoshopped “publicity” we’ve seen already!
