It looks as though we have a date to end the months of speculation and fake Galaxy S III leaks, as invites are now slowly starting to appear for a Galaxy themed event taking place in London on May 3rd.
Dutch tech site Tweakers.net is one of the first to receive the above invite, which welcomes the holder to “come and meet the next Galaxy”. The invite is surprisingly bare, with no mention of either smartphone or tablet, nor any images, as we’ve seen in previous leaks that have turned out to be fake.
However, and this may just be us pulling at strings, but the invite does feature three blobs of colour; two blue and one white. This is obviously going to lead many to take this invite as an invite to the Galaxy S 3’s official unveiling.
Samsung has already recently confirmed that it is not interested in 3D technology, so we can pretty much count that out when thinking about what the hugely anticipated smartphone will feature. Some specifications are almost a given – for example the presence of a Quad-Core Exynos processor made by Samsung – while some other speculated features aren’t so certain, such as wireless charging.
Whichever way you look at it this phone is going to try and topple the likes of the HTC One X and whatever Apple chooses to launch later this year, so it’s bound to be full of the latest tech. We’re hoping for a speedy processor coupled with a top notch screen, such as a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED with a 720p HD resolution. Don’t let us down Samsung!
We’ll find out for sure in 17 days, on Thursday May 3rd.
