IFA 2011: Samsung to deliver exclusive YouTube 3D content through Smart Hub

Samsung’s Smart TV range will soon play host to YouTube 3D content in an exclusive deal which was just announced at the IFA tech tradeshow in Berlin.

The South Korean television and gadget manufacturer will combine forces with Google’s clip network to deliver new stereoscopic programming and channels to Samsung sets boasting the Smart Hub platform which currently allows access to thousands of apps from social networking with Facebook and Twitter, movie rentals with Blockbuster and Netflix as well as a large selection of games through the recent partnership with PlayJam UK.

The addition of YouTube in 3D contributes both to the growth of Google’s video service as a legitimate broadcasting entity, and also strongly backs Samsung’s forward drive into the 3D market.

At the IFA event, Samsung also revealed the newest model in its Smart TV range, the 60D8000, an LED 60-incher with 3D capability and Smart Hub for internet and apps and the Korean co. promising no less than 10 brand new apps “every business day” – We like the ambitious approach.
