Mid-range Samsung Galaxy W hits UK network Three

Looking for a Samsung mobile that carries that ultra-popular ‘Galaxy’ branding but is more toned-down and affordable than the Galaxy S II? Look no further than UK network Three – who is offering up the mid-range Samsung Galaxy W on contract and PAYG fares from today.

Carrying current Android Gingerbread accompanied by Samsung’s own TouchWiz software, the Galaxy W stands for ‘Wonder’ and packs a respectable 1.4GHz processor, tidy 3.7” Super LCD display with a 480×800 resolution. For photos Samsung throws in a 5-megapixel shooter with LED flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing cam for video calling.

Rolling out on the Three network now, the Samsung Galaxy W will come free of charge on contracts ranging between £22 and £32 per month, which includes 2000 call time minutes to any network, 5000 texts and unlimited data. Alternatively, there’s a Pay As You Go option which delivers 300 minutes, 3000 texts and 30-days unlimited data access for £15 top up on a regular monthly basis, or upping that to £25 grants you an extra 200 call time minutes. The PAYG option will however set you back a one-off fee of £249.99 for the Samsung Galaxy W handset.

Full details of the price plans and tariffs can be found on the Three website.
