Do you remember Sharp phones? We do, those high tech, large handsets that were sold exclusively through Vodafone in the UK were decent pieces of kit but after a few years of high profile releases Sharp stepped away from the mobile market in the mid-2000s and has not been seen since…
…Until now, as Sharp are apparently back in the mobile phone world, Not just back, they’re also in 3D!
Sharp has introduced its new Sharp Aquos (the same as its TV branding) 3D Android running smartphone the Aquos SH-12C. The smartphone will run the Google Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS and comes with a mighty 1.4GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 processor, 512MB of RAM and an 8-megapixel camera capable of recording 3D video all running with a 4.2-inch qHD glasses-free 3D display.
The handset will be joining the LG Optimus 3D P920 and HTC EVO 3D in the glasses-free 3D smartphone arena, which is currently dominated by the Android operating system.
The handsets will be available first in Japan on the NTT DoCoMo network for the May 20th, but no news on whether the device will hit the European or American markets as of yet.
