It’s easy to see why Sky Go has become such a popular app. Sky keeps adding content to it, giving Sky customers access to live content, on-demand content and now highlights on smartphones and tablets.
Sky’s latest addition to Sky Go is a highlights channel for its Sky Sports channels. As you might guess, the channel brings in the latest highlights from all sorts of sporting events around the world, offering video clips through the app on mobile devices.
At present the new Sky Sports Highlights channel is only available to iPhone and iPad users with the iOS app, although Sky promises it will also come to the Android app in due time.
You’ll need to be a subscriber of Sky Sports in order to use the channel on the Sky Go app, otherwise you just have access to the regular channels and on-demand content. Those who do subscribe can find the highlights under the On Demand section of the app.
To kickstart things Sky has loaded up the channel with clips from the recent Monaco Grand Prix, British Lions rugby and the England vs New Zealand cricket of late. More will be coming across the summer, with the likes of ATP Tennis and more on the way.
“The addition of Sky Sports highlights into Sky Go is a great new feature for sports fans,” said David Gibbs, director of Sky Sports Digital Media. “Coupled with the existing option to catch all the action live on the move, this gives people even more flexibility and yet another way to ensure they never miss a moment of their favourite sports action this summer.”
Provided you’ve a subscription to Sky Sports you can download Sky Go for free right now from the App Store and get watching those highlights. For a further fiver a month you can now also score the right to download stuff using Wi-Fi for watching on the go.
