Skype App for Apple iOS Updated – Interface Refreshed & Optimised for New iPad (iPad 3)

Voice and video chat system Skype has just been awarded an update for Apple’s iOS platform, fixing a few bugs a tightening the software application’s overall performance on iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPad and iPod Touch.

As well as a notable refresh of the log-in screen and user interface as well as more fluid function and stability, fans of free Skype-to-Skype calls via Wi-Fi will now be able to benefit from a new feature which allows callers to move their own video preview anywhere on the screen. Also now when that annoying moment occurs that the Skype app suddenly closes it will now bound back resuming where it left off, surely the app closing in the first place is a big in need of fixing itself, but at least it’s less of a bothersome issue now. “Near” CD quality sound is also promised in the latest revision to version 4.0.

The Skype app was recently optimised for use on iPad making the best of all those glorious visuals delivered by the latest third gen tablet’s 9.7” retina display and the app can be downloaded or updated via the Apple App Store today.
