Skype for iPad Launched

Skype for iPad has been launched!

The app was put on the App Store this morning but then pulled shortly after due to a “premature” launch, and the anticipated VoIP video and voice call service for Apple’s tablet appeared ever so briefly on the App Store last night. The now Microsoft-owned Skype then released a statement which addressed the unnecessary excitement saying that the app will be back, and now it is!

Bringing with it an optimized user interface developed exclusively for iPad and including feature especially suited for iPad 2 in particular, the Skype app for iPad and iPad 2 is now here.

Apple tablet users can now get in on the Skype action.

Meanwhile, over on Facebook..

Skype has launched an online help community through its FB page, called the Support Network. This network allows users to search for answers to their independent Skype and Skype on Facebook / Facebook on Skype problems and find solutions from the experts – as well as utilising the vast human resource that is the social network itself, by allowing users to share their own solutions through discussion forums.

For those few non-Facebookers, the Support Network is also up now at  Community.Skype.com
