Asus has launched a new notebook for the UK market that features the world’s slimmest notebook screen panel.
The Asus U46 is a Windows 7 laptop with the latest specifications and an ultra-slim 14-inch High Definition screen.
The screen itself is just 5.5mm thick (or should we say thin), making the overall profile of the U46 much slimmer. The U46 boasts a crisp screen resolution of 1366×768 pixels, meaning it is on a par with HD televisions.
Inside is an Intel Core i5 processor based on the Sandy Bridge chipset alongside a powerful Nvidia GeForce GT540M graphics card which packs 1GB of dedicated GDDR3 video memory. There’s also a 500GB Hard Drive and a decent 4GB of RAM.
The ASUS U46 packs impressive connectivity options too, with USB 3.0 and HDMI sockets plus a full-sized SD Card Reader. Battery life is around 10 hours according to ASUS, which should make the U46 a big hit with those who travel or work with a laptop on the go.
ASUS have developed USB Charger+ to work optimally with the USB 3.0 socket when charging connected devices such as mobile phones and iPods. With this software your connected gadgets will charge much faster than with a standard USB port.
The ASUS U46 is available now across the UK from stores such as Comet, and retails at £699.
