Sony 3D Experience brings on-demand 3D content to Bravia TVs

We all know that there’s little to no point in buying a 3D TV unless there’s plenty of available 3D content to watch on it, and with that in mind Sony has launched an on-demand service for 3D video content for its 3D Bravia TVs.

3D experience is an app which will be preloaded on new Sony Bravia Internet Video TVs and downloadable for current models as well. Load up the app on your Bravia TV and you’ll have access to a range of free 3D content ranging from video clips to movie trailers, music videos, sports highlights, games and TV documentaries.

Sony is now the second major telly manufacturer to offer a 3D on-demand service – Samsung launched their “Explore 3D” service for their range of smart TVs back in May.

From the initial launch of Sony 3D Experience there will be 30 or so videos to watch, with Wimbledon highlights coming in glorious 3D very soon according to Sony.

Edd Uzzell, proposition development manager at Sony UK, said: “Sony is committed to creating great 3D experiences by combining the best content with a full HD 3D.

“This free service delivers exclusive content directly to your home via any Bravia 3D TV and straight out of the box. We will continue to work with partners to give our customers access to more great 3D entertainment.”

The 3D on-demand service goes live today (July 13th) in the UK and US. Sony says that their range of 3D Blu-Ray players with internet facilities will also get this feature soon.
