Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Update for Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S, Ray & Neo V Begins European Roll Out

[tab name=’News’]
With the Sony Xperia S now on the scene as Sony’s main focus, it’s about time we started to see older Xperia devices getting some love, right? Well, it seems that from today Sony Mobile is now serving up Android 4.0 ICS on a number of handsets across Europe and a U.K arrival seems imminent!

From countries in the Nordic regions such as Sweden, Iceland, Finland and Denmark, reports are surfacing that owners of the Xperia Arc S, Xperia Ray and Xperia Neo V phones are receiving a notification that their update to the latest and greatest Android OS is available from today, with a total roll out due to be complete within four to six weeks, meaning we could still have a week or so to wait here in England, but what matters is that it’s coming!

As previously reported these devices will be followed by updates on the Xperia Arc, Xperia Neo, Xperia Mini and Mini Pro, as well as Xperia Pro and Xperia Active. Sony Ericsson’s Live Walkman mobile will also get a tasty new OS and interface – as will the “Playstation phone” Xperia PLAY which currently has a developers only version of the Ice Cream Sandwich software in distribution.

Gadget Helpline will update this news to bring our readers the latest on when they can expect the update to come to their devices!
