With all rumours of a 2012 launch of a Playstation 4 dealt an official death blow, Sony look to refresh their existing gaming wares with a stylish new Scarlet Red paint job for the PS3, prolonging the appeal of the Playstation brand to new home console buyers while they await news of what’s next.
Six years after it’s first appearance the PS3 is still one of the leading consoles. Rivaled only by Microsoft’s Xbox, Sony’s console has sold well over 62-million units worldwide. The variant Scarlet Red coloured 320GB console is asthetically identical to the original (albeit by colour) and will house the same Playstation gaming goodness as the preceeding black version including the Blu-Ray/DVD drive, backward compatibility with classic PSOne and PS2 titles, internet and Wi-Fi connectivity, HDMI output, a single colour matching control pad and membership to the Playstation Network / Sony Entertainment Network thrown in.
The PS3 in Scarlet is available to pre-order now through outlets such as Amazon and Play.com costing £250 for shipping on May 4th.
