Sony Tablet device on its way this summer

Tablet devices are top of the priority list for technology manufacturers and most probably gadget lovers too. Tablets featuring ARM-based CPUs along with tablet-orientated operating systems (Android Honeycomb), are certainly becoming the future of portable computing and entertainment.

And not wanting to miss an opportunity, it would seem that Sony are the latest company who want to get a piece of the tablet pie, as Sony’s CEO, Sir Howard Stringer has gone ahead and confirmed the company’s plans of unveiling a tablet device.

As well as mentioning the fact that Sony plan to release an Android 3.0 powered tablet, Sir Howard Stringer has also let slip (perhaps intentionally) that the latest iPhone device will also feature the company’s Exmor R BSI (Backside Illuminated Sensor).

According to the reports, the future tablet device will be hitting US markets first at the end of summer, unfortunately though no information regarding specs, availability or price at the moment.
